The most challenging activity you can do physically - is just BE - sit in meditation

I often hear “I can’t meditate, my mind won’t stop”.

It's Not About Turning Off Your Mind

Meditation is not about making your mind stop. Let’s just say, unless you are an 8 hour a day meditation guru, it’s not about turning off the mind. It’s about one pointed focus - focusing on one thought, idea, image, sound and using your mental muscle to keep that focus.

It’s no different than push ups. Being able to do 10 push ups begins with 1. Flexing the muscle of the mind begins with 1 minute at a time. 99.9% of the people I work with are tortured by the ruminating thoughts, replay and repeat of the same old story all day long, day after day. What we forget to understand is that this didn’t happen overnight. It’s the constant conditioning of what if’s, shoulds, don’t wants and not good enoughs that get fed over and over and then they grow and take on a life of their own.

Let’s break it down.
All you need is a new thought pattern
Repeat it every day (begin with 1 minute every day)
Make it a non negotiable
When an old thought pattern comes in, interrupt it, reject it, decide that it has no power over you
Repeat
Be kind
Have fun

Imagine filling your mind with so much good that there's no room for any more of the junk to take hold.

Practice. Practice. Practice. Remember, you won’t get to 10 push ups without the first one.

A little secret, decide this is fun, exciting, a new way to take control of your life. The brain only can retain new information if we are in a fun state of mind. Get out of surviving and get into thriving.
