Discover how to live with purpose as a daily practice instead of waiting for a big revelation. Learn simple ways to reduce stress, build self-trust, and feel more fulfilled one day at a time.
If you’ve ever felt like everyone else got the memo about their purpose and you’re still trying to catch up, you are not alone.
So many purpose-driven women quietly carry this fear: I should know by now. I should be further along. I should have it all figured out.
And that thought alone can create so much stress.
It can leave you second-guessing your path, comparing yourself to everyone around you, and wondering if you somehow missed your moment. But what if purpose is not something you “find” in one big magical reveal? What if purpose is something you practice, little by little, one day at a time?
That shift changes everything.
Because when you stop waiting for a lightning-bolt moment and start treating purpose like a daily relationship, you begin to feel less behind and more connected. More grounded. More energized. More like yourself.
As a licensed counselor, self image coach, intenSati leader, and yoga teacher, I help professional women activate a positive self image by tapping into their creative genius so that they can create a life they love with passion and ON PURPOSE! This teaching is here to help activate your spiritual being by tapping into those little nudges that often go ignored.
Each week, I teach through 1 of the 4 pillars to consciously creating a life you love: mindset, heartset, physical being, and spiritual being. Today is all about your spiritual being. Today, you will learn how to listen to your intuition with more certainty, feel more confident in your purpose, and continue to trust your inner guidance in everyday life.
Let’s walk through this in a simple flow so you can not only understand purpose differently, but actually begin living it.
Why So Many Women Feel Behind When It Comes to Purpose
There is a very common belief that purpose arrives as one crystal-clear answer.
You are supposed to wake up one day, suddenly know exactly what you are here to do, and then everything falls into place.
But for most women, that is not how it works.
Instead, purpose often shows up as a whisper before it becomes a direction. It feels more like a nudge than a neon sign. It comes through as what lights you up, what pulls at your heart, what keeps returning to your mind, and what feels deeply true even when it does not make logical sense right away.
The problem is that many women dismiss those nudges.
They tell themselves it's silly.
They tell themselves it's unrealistic.
They tell themselves it won’t make money.
They tell themselves it doesn’t fit the image of what a responsible, successful woman is “supposed” to do.
So they stay in roles, routines, and expectations that look good from the outside but feel draining on the inside.
And over time, that creates an inner disconnect.
You may still be functioning. You may still be succeeding. You may still be checking the boxes. But something feels off. Something feels flat. Something feels like it’s pulling against who you really are.
That feeling matters.
What It Really Means to Live With Purpose
Living with purpose does not mean you have your entire life mapped out.
It means you are no longer living on autopilot.
It means you are becoming more aware of what feels aligned and what does not. It means you are noticing where your energy expands and where it contracts. It means you are willing to look at the bigger picture of your life and ask, How am I meant to impact the world? How do I make a difference in a way that is true to me?
Purpose brings fulfillment because it connects your daily choices to something deeper.
It helps you feel that your life is not just a list of tasks to get through, but an expression of who you are.
And just as important, purpose is not what other people think it should be.
It is not your family’s expectations.
It is not society’s definition of success.
It is not the voice of burnout telling you to push harder.
It is not the endless blabber of shoulds.
Purpose is not the thing that drains you until you forget yourself.
Purpose comes from your soul. From your core genius. From that deeper place inside you that knows what is true, even when the world around you is noisy.
This is why purpose as a daily practice matters so much. It gives you space to hear yourself again.
Desire: Why This Matters for Stress Relief, Self-Image, and Energy
When you are out of alignment with yourself, your nervous system often knows before your mind fully admits it.
Think about how it feels when you do something that is not true for you, even in a small way. Maybe it is saying yes when you mean no. Maybe it is performing, pretending, or trying to be who you think you need to be. Maybe it is staying in a role simply because it is what successful women do if they want to get ahead.
There is a tension in that.
It feels like you are pulling against your own spirit. Like something inside of you is saying, this is not it.
That inner friction creates stress. It drains your energy. It chips away at your self-image because the more you betray your truth, the harder it becomes to trust yourself.
On the other hand, when you begin listening to your deeper self, even in small ways, something shifts. You feel more at peace. More clear. More steady. More alive.
This does not mean every day becomes easy. It means your days begin to feel more honest.
And honesty with yourself is healing.
I have seen this in so many women, and I have lived it too. There are seasons when life looks successful on paper, but inwardly, there is an ache. You keep going through the motions because it seems practical, responsible, or expected. Yet underneath it all, there is a quiet whisper asking for something more meaningful, more creative, more true.
At first, it is easy to ignore.
But the whisper does not go away.
It may come through restlessness. Through envy. Through boredom. Through the sense that you are meant for something different, even if you cannot fully name it yet.
That whisper is not random. It is guidance.
We are more than physical bodies moving through a busy schedule. We are fueled by something bigger, stronger, deeper, and more meaningful. And while we may not always be able to put our finger on it, we can learn to listen.
When we do, we begin coming back into integrity with who we really are.
And the world needs that.
The world does not need a more exhausted version of you trying to fit into a mold that was never meant for you. The world needs what you were put here for.
Action: How to Practice Purpose Every Day
The good news is you do not need to figure out your whole life today. You simply need to start paying attention.
Here are 3 simple ways to practice purpose daily.
1. Notice what excites you
Think about something that genuinely excites you.
What are you doing?
Who are you with?
How does your body feel when you are in it?
Maybe you lose track of time. Maybe you feel energized instead of depleted. Maybe you feel creative, present, and fully yourself.
Those moments matter.
Purpose often leaves clues in your aliveness.
A lot of women overlook this because they assume purpose has to be serious, dramatic, or instantly profitable. But often, purpose begins in joy, curiosity, connection, service, creativity, or a deep sense of meaning.
Start tracking those moments throughout your week. Ask yourself, What gave me energy today? What felt natural? What felt like me?
That is data you can trust.
2. Notice what drains you
On the flip side, start noticing what leaves you feeling heavy, resentful, or disconnected.
What conversations drain you?
What activities make you feel like you are abandoning yourself?
Where do you feel pressure to perform instead of simply be?
This is not about judging your life. It is about becoming aware.
Sometimes what drains you is a sign that a role, habit, or expectation no longer fits. Sometimes it shows you where boundaries are needed. And sometimes it reveals that you have been living according to someone else’s values instead of your own.
Purpose becomes easier to hear when you stop filling your life with what drowns it out.
Enjoy the presence of the pause here. You do not need to force an answer. You simply need to notice.
3. Pay attention to envy without shame
This one is powerful.
What makes you jealous or envious?
Usually, we are taught to push those feelings away. But envy can actually reveal desire. It can show you what your heart wants but has been afraid to admit.
Maybe you see someone building a business, writing a book, teaching, leading, traveling, creating, or living with freedom. Notice what emotions come up.
Do you feel inspired?
Do you feel lack?
Do you think, she has it so I can’t?
Do you tell yourself there is not enough to go around?
Your reaction will tell you a lot.
If something stirs you, there may be a reason. Not because you are meant to copy someone else’s life, but because their example awakened something already living inside you.
That awakening is worth honoring.
A Real-Life Example of Purpose as a Daily Practice
Let’s make this practical.
Imagine a woman who feels stuck in her routine. She is productive, responsible, and dependable. But at the end of most days, she feels empty. She keeps thinking she needs one huge answer about her purpose before she can make any changes.
Instead of waiting for that answer, she starts practicing purpose daily.
In the morning, she takes 5 quiet minutes to write before looking at her phone.
At lunch, she notices that a conversation about creativity lights her up.
In the afternoon, she realizes a task she keeps forcing herself through leaves her feeling resentful and disconnected.
That evening, she notices she feels emotional watching another woman share her work online. Instead of criticizing herself for feeling jealous, she asks, What is this showing me about what I want?
Little by little, she starts gathering clues.
She begins saying yes to what energizes her and no to what constantly drains her.
She starts trusting the whispers.
She stops telling herself she is behind.
She begins to consciously create her life.
That is purpose in practice.
Not all at once.
Not perfectly.
Just 1% improvement 1 day at a time.
Your 4-Part Close
Immediate takeaway: That tiny whisper, that calling from within, that’s for you. It’s real.
Lesson: Whatever that ache is in your heart, that quiet whisper, that’s for you. If you’re hearing it, if you’re feeling it, it’s because you are meant for it.
Question: What are the things, ideas, or actions I keep ignoring because they seem silly, won’t make any money, feel too out of the box, or seem irresponsible?
Action step: Set aside 5 to 10 minutes today and write. Writing is your doorway to the subconscious. Let your pen move without overthinking. If you are already on your path, write a note to someone who is still searching. What helped you hear, feel, and know your purpose? If you are still searching, write as if your wiser self is speaking to you. What is she trying to tell you right now?
Wake up and win by trusting that inner guidance a little more today.
You do not need a big reveal to live with purpose.
You need willingness.
You need awareness.
You need honesty.
You need space to listen.
Purpose is not just one future destination. It is the way you choose to live today. It is the daily practice of listening to your soul, honoring what is true, and allowing your life to reflect that truth more and more over time.
So if you have been feeling behind, let this be your reminder: you are not behind. You are becoming more aware. And awareness is where everything begins.
Consciously create your life by listening to what has been quietly calling you all along.
